New Blog, Labor Day Weekend

Since we've gotten a little settled in, we decided to start up a blog to help share a little bit about our lives with family and friends. Hopefully this is something we can update somewhat regularly and can include pictures and stories of good times. Also, it will be a good place for us to go back and look at our time together...kind of like an online scrapbook. Hope you enjoy!

This first post comes on the heels of a great Labor Day weekend split between Fayetteville and Little Rock. Friday afternoon we were able to drive up to Fayetteville for the opening weekend of Razorback football season. If you don't know us, one thing you should know is that we love sports and especially the Hogs. We got to stay with our good friends Mark and Taylor Kella, and on Friday night ate with them, Tripp Cashion and Rachel Gibbons at Burger Life, a cool burger place in Fayetteville where you design your own burger.

Saturday we went to eat at one of our favorite breakfast places from college, The Rolling Pin. Then it was time to tailgate. It was a little warm but it was great to be in the gameday atmosphere and see many friends. Here is a picture of us tailgating before the game:

The game started at 6 and was a great one if you like points. We stayed for the whole thing including this amazing punt return by Joe Adams.

We got up Sunday morning and came home in time for a quick lunch and then a little recreating for both of us. Scott went golfing with friends and I went shopping and got pampered with a nice pedicure. Sunday night we were able to have some friends over who we had not seen in a while: John Mark Miller, Ben Rainwater, and Calvin Vaughan. We had a fun night of playing Wii Sports while eating chocolate chip cookies.

Monday we got up to find the weather outside was absolutely perfect. We went down to the river and walked for about an hour with Scott's parents and then ate on the patio at Palio's pizza. Scott and I then went for a nice drive with the windows down out Highway 10 to Lake Maumelle. Here is a picture from one of the views we stopped at:

Tomorrow we go back to work for a short week before another Razorback football game this weekend here in Little Rock.

Hopefully you enjoyed this post and there will be many more to come! Let us know what you think.
